>> 3. Now I have lower base boost (1 oclock on gauge maybe 6psi) BUT - I have much higher peak boost. Where I used to hit 15 psi (solid red beginning on my dash gauge) I now can actually squeel tires in 2nd gear, as the boost shoots up to 18 psi , (almost to the end of the red) then comes back down and steadies at a solid 15 psi and holds it).
Like JJ, I think this sounds good, but your changes may be a pre-adaptation phenomenon. Have you gone through the adaptation process? Get in 3rd or 4th, preferably up a hill, and floor the accelerator at 2700 RPM's and hold it to 3200 or higher. Trionic should be set at that point.
Every time you check base boost, you'll probably need to re-adapt Trionic--at least that's my experience. If I remove the electrical connection on the BPC solenoid to check base boost, it usually boosts higher than normal 'til I force re-adaptation.
If you're at 18 psi, then settling at 15, I'd say that's a good position to be in. I'm at about 17 peak, then 14 or 15 according to my VDO gauge. I haven't put the gauge you have on the car in a while.
