Mattias, I'm wondering what you paid for the '97? I bought my '98
engine and transaxle, from my local salvage yard, for $2500 (US).
It came with everything: wiring harness, trionic,AC compressor,
starter, alternator. They even threw in a couple of peripherals:
heater core, blower motor, evaporator, all the AC lines and receiver/
dryer. The only thing they didn't include was the condenser and
radiator. I ended up buying a lot of other parts on the car. I
probably should have bought the whole vehicle, which they offered
to me for $5700. It was hit in the front, but the whole rear clip
was perfect - in fact, they sold the clip, not long after, for
$3500. Anyway, I bought the front and rear suspension, including
the rotors & calipers, for $800. Finally, because I had bought
all these parts they gave me a real deal on the four wheels with
Michelin's - $500! They are the Super Aero 16" with exposed lug
nuts. Everything had 10K miles when I purchased. The only thing
that needed to be replaced was the Mitsubishi TD04. In the accident,
the radiator and support collided into the turbo. Although I didn't
notice it at first, the collision caused the exhaust side of the
impeller to snap off right at the shaft. I had to buy a new one,
but the salvage yard gave me a credit in parts! I was more than
happy with the deal.
