Ignition (?) electrical problem - 88 9000T Posted by Rod [Email] (#3128) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Rod) on Wed, 4 Oct 2000 20:22:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Sometimes my 88 9000 T will start up just fine, but other times I turn the key to the II position and none of the dashboard lights come on. When this happens it will crank but won't start - I assume because there is no power going to all of the various electrically operated engine management devices. Position 1 works fine because the radio and headlights come on when I turn it here.
If I turn it on and off a few times usually the power will come back - sometimes after just one or two attempts, but more recently it's taken quite a few minutes of turning the key back and forward.
This sounds like an ignition switch problem, but i wasn't sure if it might not be a relay somewhere? Either way has anybody had this problem before - if so is there an easy fix?
