Speak to me of mixture

I've never been exactly certain about what happens when you put a higher pressure fuel pressure regulator on a car. Check my math here and tell me if it's right, wrong , close, or sorta ...
The oxygen sensor tells the fuel injection ECU what the mixture is. The air mass meter tells the FI ECU how much air is coming into the engine. The FI ECU then controls the fuel injector pulse length to maintain the proper mixture ratio. If you installed a higher pressure regulator and did nothing else, then the FI turn-on time would be shortened to maintain the same mixture as before under all conditions (I assume that gas mileage and performance would stay the same). Now, if you increase the boost (and hence the amount of air), the higher fuel pressure should allow the correct mixture to be maintained for the greater air throughput.
