My car was a New York car until a couple months ago, and always passed inpsection there with no problem. With a new exhaust system, filling door holes does seem a little absurd. Still, in working the problem I've come up with lots of solutions, both temporary patching (lowest quote so far at $430), and door replacement options (can buy doors from Saabdepot.com for $100-$175 each (that's Canadian $ by the way), from bbparts.com for $200 each, or from goldwingusedsaabparts.com for @$450 each). I'm getting one last quote on temporary patching today, but am leaning towards getting two new doors and repainting the car. Thanks to everyone for helping me work this problem. Needless to say, at this point I'm tempted to move back to New York.
