About 1.5 years ago I switched my 92 9000 to a 50:50 mix of Castrol Syn and dino oil and noticed an immediate improvement and apparent smoothing in engine performance. I have had the engine thoroughly examined twice since then and found that it is much cleaner and less carbonized than before. I also have not noticed any appreciable increase in drippage from my gaskets and suspect that this is because I still have enough dino juice to keep them fully swollen. My cylinder pressure is less than 5 pounds difference across the bank. Overall I am very pleased with this mix and feel that it should extend the life of my engine. I also have been regularly siphoning out the tranny oil with a vacuum pump and replacing that with fresh dino juice.
