tire pressure- sounds dumb, but hear me out...

i know that you can check the inside driver side pass. door for recommended tire pressures, but if i'm reading those right, there are maybe 3 different pressures to run, according to your load- i don't have the time or patience to change it that often! and i doubt others do, either... so what tire pressure do you guys run? esp. since since it's usually just me in there... i usually run 38-40 (my max on the tire is 44) so if it expands or contracts with the weather, i'm running anywhere from 35-42 (i'd imagine). any thoughts? am i over or underinflating? 40 cold seems to be the best pressure for crisp handling from what i've tried...
