DougM/ djet experts - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
A strange time with the 74 djet! The engine will not fire on its own, unless I pour a bit of fuel, into the intake. It starts immediately, runs until the gas is out/ and of course black fouled plugs right after.
I then think- clogged tank...
I pulled the hose off of the fuel rail- cranked- and healthy doses of fuel comes right out. I also changed the fuel pressure regulator.
Clean spark plugs and fuel down the intake, starts the engine.
Time to grab that thick orange manual, yet any ideas(short cuts) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a million. I do not want to do the 16valve conversion- but this d jet!
