Hey guys, I figured out the problem. It's the ignition switch. The contacts must have gotten burnt when I tried starting it with the (old) burnt out starter. For now I just have two hefty wires jammed in the connectors that I touch together to start it. I'll deal with it properly when I have a garage to work in.
