I haven't ever really had a problem with head corrosion, but I do change the coolant every 2 years. Use a modern "blue" coolant formulated for use with aluminum; eEuroparts (and NAPA) carry a Pentosin brand, I've also heard the Mercedes brand recommended. I have had the orange long-life (Propylene Glycol) in my car for the last 10 years or so, seems like it was rough on some of the rubber bits (like the heater valve) but I'm told that it also leaches lead out of the brazed radiator and therefore becomes uniquely toxic. It was originally recommended because it should reduce corrosion and water pump seal wear in a car that sits around a lot, but I would not do it again. I'd use the combination of blue ethylene glycol, distilled water, and RedLine Water Wetter and change it every 2 years.
