So I did a little more testing , driving around with a Fluke hooked into the test port. Pretty much a steady 60% (68Hz) all drive long. No change when the problem started occurring (it did eventually). When I manually close the micro-switch it drops to 52-53%. So far I can't tell if I was imagining not hearing the valve or not, but so far I have not caught it in the act of NOT buzzing. I tried pulling over quickly and jumping out when the problem issue occurred, but it was still buzzing. So I'm still pretty stumped. I did check the spring back in the mechanical advance and the vacuum advance and they seem to be working fine. I have the service manuals I can read through again. An intermittent frequency valve fits the symptoms, but so far it appears to be behaving except for the micro-switch. What do you think of that?
