Thanks for the explanation. From my electronics training, I knew that a capacitor simply stores a charge, but wasn't sure if the condensor was the same.
Also, I have the condensor plugged into the NEGATIVE side of the coil. I believe that's correct... but let me know.
Also Also, I'm using a NEW: Bosch Blue coil / cap / rotor / points and Kingsborne plug wires.
The plugs are used, but they were the only 1/2" ones I had. I did determine that when I swapped out cylinder heads, I MUST have used an earlier set, as I was using the NGK BP6ES plugs (3/4" reach) and the #3 piston was smacking the plug, causing the arm to close up against the electrode. Then I looked at spare heads/engines to determine that yeah, I now have the 1/2" reach heads installed on the car.
Does anyone have the NGK equivalent in 1/2" plugs??
