They are crimped into a u-shaped channel in the top if the outer sheet metal. Slice the old one of with a razor blade and you will see the rubber flange trapped in the channel. Use a dull screw driver to open the channel and remove the remains. Clean and paint the channel if needed. I usually just glue the new one in place with a small amount of weatherstrip adhesive. No need to take apart the door, just roll down the window.
