So here is an update as to the durability of my fix. I used generic fuel hose 1&3/8" from a supply house and heated the hose to bend it with a piece of flexible electrical conduit inside as a form. This worked great... or so I thought. All was well for the 1st 15 years and then one day, a smell of gas in the garage. A few days later a dark spot on the garage floor near the back wheel. Gas. Darn. So I suspect that, since fuel safe hose is not entirely fuel safe (it's just s thin coating inside that makes gas not eat it away), when I heated it, I probably blistered that coating and ta da - a failure years later. I did find a supplier that sells a 90ยบ bend in the right diameter hose. http://www.fillernecksupply.com has them. Item #D138A90 for $19.95. They have great customer service (website initially listed as out of stock so I emailed them on a Friday evening for an ETA and had a response in ~30 minutes - and it's a small company and the response didn't sound like it came from India [no offense intended towards India - but hey - ya know...]). Will need to be trimmed to fit but I should be good now for another 35 years.
