To all Saabnet users: Recently there has beens some technical
difficulties on the Saabnet server. As we all know this service is FREE and
Scott Paterson has been doing a fantastic job in keeping the system running
for 12 -- YES, TWELVE YEARS!!! It's a thankless job, and Scott gets
virtually nothing for his efforts other than the satisfaction of a lot of
very happy Saabers and a few flames, unintended we're sure, when the server
goes thermonuclear.
Well, no longer. Several of us in the user group would like to
extend our thanks to Scott and "buy him a beer", so to speak. However, not
knowing whether he even likes beer, as any self respecting Saaber should,
plus given the laws on interstate transport of alcohol, it might be a better
idea to give Scott a gift certificate from Amazon-dot-com.
So, with that in mind, Michael Moeny and Jim Miller are setting up a gift
certificate to which anyone can contribute at Amazon-dot-com.
Unfortunately, we can't all send it as a single gift certificate-each
person must set up their own and send it to Scott (just the way
Amazon-dot-com works, we guess...)
Here are the details:
Thank you for sending us your inquiry. You may order a gift certificate
to be sent via e-mail or regular mail. The e-mail address of the
recipient or the complete shipping address will be sufficient.
You can use your credit card to order an Amazon.com gift certificate
in any dollar amount between U.S. $5.00 and U.S. $5,000.00. However, at
this time, our system does not allow multiple purchasers for the same gift
certificate. Each giver may send a separate gift certificate to the
recipient. Another solution is to have one person order the gift
certificate and the other purchasers pay that person directly.
We'll deliver the gift certificate via e-mail or physical mail-your
choice-anywhere in the world.

Gift Certificates," choose the secure server, fill out the order form,
