The steam from the exhaust is a dead giveaway. When the engine is cold pull the plugs and turn it over, also see if the plugs are wet. Coolant has a distinctive smell, does the exhaust have a sweet smell?
Check the oil for a white or gray sludge. better yet, change the oil and look for beads of water as the oil drains.
