I have this 78 99t that I have slowly been trying to fix up over the past year or so. I just noticed that after driving for 20 min or so around the neighbrohood the head seeps about 1 tsp. of coolent out. Since it is leaking out rather then leaking into the combustion chamber, I am not in a huge hurry to fix it, but I think I will try to tackle it this winter. I have a few questions about the job. I have done head gaskets on 900s but never a B motor.

1. A friend of mine has a head from an 80 EMS, will it work on my 78 99t?
(I think my head was milled by PO and I don't want to resuse it unless I have to) The other head was bought brand new and has very little time on it.

2. What part of the exhasut do I undo? The turbo looks like a pain to remove. Can I leave it connected to the exhaust manifold? What is the easiest way to get it all out of the way. It looks like anyway I go about undoing the exhaust is hard.

3. How does timing chain tensioner work, and are there any precautions concerning the idler shaft?

4. Are all the gaskets still readily available or should I start searching E-bay now.

5. It looks hard. Is it?(compared to 8v 900)

6. I have the Haynes book and the Autobook(which stops at 1974) Is there something better I can buy?

7. Am I being stupid by replacing this over a little coolent seeping out?
