Hi Paul, here you go: (1) http://www.highgate.uk.com/parts/parts3.html
lists the fuel pump, new, their P/N HE0035, Saab P/N 8860314. (2) Also
obtainable from Northern Power Products in Eagan, Minnesota, sorry I
do not have their phone # but post back if you cannot locate them through
directory assistance and I will repost. Northern Power is an industrial supplier that stocks V4 parts mostly for industrial/agricultural applications and has always come through for me at very reasonable prices.
I expect that the fuel pump they list is the same as the automotive one but you would need to verify this. (3) I have been unable to find out if the BAP/GEON P/N given by Carlin is for an original style or an electric pump, I believe that Beck-Arnley lists a pump for the V4 but it is electric. I went to an electric pump years ago, it's best to remove the original and the pushrod and block off the hole. Not all electric pumps are created equal, I wouldn't buy the cheapest one. When they fail they often do so without warning and it wouldn't hurt to carry a spare. Mine is mounted under the hood by the left horn. My spare is CarQuest P/N E8011
which I was supplied when I asked the parts house for their most reliable
pump, but this is not the same as the one I've run for 6-8 years now so I
have no direct experience. (4) The Saab pushrod style pump is very similar to that fitted to the BMW 2002 and might even be identical, if you could locate one of those.
As to a kit to rebuild yours, if that's what you really want to do in the face of all the other options, I would think your best bet is to happen on a NOS kit from a dealer. Camelback Saab in Phoenix AZ has been very cooperative in searching the dealer parts network for old stuff like this.
