I've been away from here for a while but since I see John periodically I wanted to make sure everyone is aware of his expertise. He has maintained the 3 900T's we own for years. When I bought a '69 95 a few years ago, he and his mechanic totally rebuilt the engine and brakes, plus other misc. odd and ends to the point where it can be used as a daily driver. Since then, I've picked up a few 96s he's worked on. As a bonus, when I found out he used to be a MB mechanic, I brought my 420SEL to him for some servicing, and he also did some wonders to my '88 BMW 528e. He's just a great intuitive mechanic who fixes what needs to be fixed, scrounges replacement parts, both new and used when necessary, and charges a very fair rate for his expertise. I don't know where I'll go when he finally retires for good, but while he's got his shop going -- take advantage of it!!
