the dealer's service records are filed by name, while manufacturers' records are indeed organized by VIN. The 2011 models purchased before the bankruptcy did indeed have warranties, but alas they expired with the Company. Even then service records include only company paid service, which were processed through the warranty account. Customer paid service wouldn't appear.
IF it's oil changes you're concerned about, peeking in through the oil fill hole with a flashlight (or fiber optic or video probe), removing the oil drain plug and scraping with a wire, removing the valve cover for inspection, and dropping the pan for inspection are all tried and true techniques for evaluating engine cleanliness. Listed in order of effectiveness and expense.
