Re: Iowa City Saab repair? - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
Correct, it is 2.8T. But the Cadillac version was pulled from the market. Cadillac decided they knew better than Saab for tuning the turbo engine, and for their trouble created a lot of grenaded engines.
Anyway the referenced problem is the water pump, which is hung onto the front of the engine, kind of in the valley between the cylinders and driven by a belt. The turbo plumbing is all up high, with the single turbo perched on top of the transmission. Shouldn't bother the Buick guys. I'd suggest a Buick shop rather than a Cadillac shop as the Buick LaCrosse was made on the platform as the NG 9-5, while Cadillac didn't, I don't believe, have such a model.
