At 36,800 miles, I finally replaced my OEM Michelin Pilots. I looked at all the tire recommendation posts I saw on this board, and narrowed my choices down to Yoko A520's and Sumitomo HTR ZII's. In the end, I went with the Sum's. Got them mounted, balanced, siped, and new stems for a tick over $500 (price included emergency replacement).
I've only put about 20 miles on them, but I can't believe how loud my Michelin's were compared with the Sumitomo's. I never remember the Pilots being this quiet. I haven't tested the handling very much yet, but these are Z-rated tires and the few corners I took hard found the them willing to perform. Nice v-style tread design, too.
Time will tell if I'd make the same choice again. I'm anxious to see how the siping assists with performance in inclement weather.
