The issue is what the new tires will be like in a year or so. I can't think of a reason why any new tire would not be smooth, unless there was a gross defect. The noise and other problems are wear patterns. Wear takes time.

I fully understand your excitement. When you have nasty rubber, new tires are a wonderful experience.
