I second MJMs clutchless driving methods. I have driven many hundred miles that way (long as you got a full tank or gas and an empty bladder, and its not rush hour, there's no limit to how far you can go.
I also carry a spare clutch cable, a little tool made from coat hanger to help install it, and a set of detailed instructions for replacing the cable. That way, even non-Saab garage will have a fighting chance of fixing it, and I won't have to wait days for a part if I break down in non-Saab country.
BTW AAA is almost useless these days - they don't do even minor repairs, and usually the best they can do is tow you to the nearest dealership and leave you there, even for the simplest of problems. No so much fun if its friday night and you are 300 miles from home.
