My '94 SE has had it's share of leaks in the trunk. I've finally fixed them all; here is where they were:
- Sunroof drain plugged on driver side (pull back liner, you will see a hose running through a grommet in the floor. Pull it out and make sure you can blow through it, then put it back in and make sure it is tight. Do the same thing with the one on the passenger side.
- Taillamp seals. These looked good, but leaked from the top surfaces. RTV and new gaskets fixed the leaks
- Fuel filler seal. This one leaked a trickle that pooled near the passenger side shock air vent. Fixed with a new seal, RTV and undercoating.
- hatch seal. This one fits well, but . . . water would leak past it at the bottom (near the base of the hatch) and dribble into the trunk. Attached it with black RTV.
- Shock mounts. These leaked water when driven in the rain. Lots of dirt was evident where they were leaking. Removed, sealed with Silicone and reinstalled.
The best way to diagnose the leak is to remove all trunk linings and have someone spray the back of the car, while you lay inside and look for leaks.
