I owned a 1995 900SE. In Fall 2002 the rear window seal separated from the fabric of the top. Below is the fix, you can also refer to the communication thread on this subject:
- "Convertible Rear Window", Jan 2003
- "convertible top has come unglued under the rear window", Nov 2002
Here is a copy and paste of the solution I wrote back the:
"I did my research homework last week to re-seal the rear window to the top.
I'd like to share that valuable information with convertible 900 owners.
1-buy the right repair products (glass cleaner P/N KK GL502, 3M Urethane primer clear P/N 8683, 3M Urethane primer black P/N 8684, 3M Urethane super fast glue ; total cost about $28).
2-If you don't feel being able to repair it yourself, bring it to a specialist and ask him to follow the repair directions written on the 3M glue can
3-check out this URL for addtional guidelines: http://216.78.172.244/body_folder/900_-_94_cv_top_faq.htm
4-Let it dry for a few days and you just saved yourself an expensive window assembly replacement.
Recommendations for the convertible saab owners living in NJ: I brought my car to S&B Car Tops Inc (Hackensack, Tel: 201-489-4094), provided the repair kit and had it professionally repaired. The result is EXCELLENT, 2 thumbs up!!(more if I had more thumbs). Real nice professionals, finally found some very knowledgeable honest mechanics (ask for Brian). In addition to working on conv tops, they do also upholstery, window, etc."
Hope it helps. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
Samuel
