I just changed the entire suspension and tie rods on my '02 SE 5-dr. Eibach springs, bilstein struts/shocks, Genuine Saab poly bushings, and even the poly inner tie rod bushings. Unless the strut housing was damaged in an accident, you should not need to replace that. The nut that holds the insert in place can be tough to get off, particularly if your old strut leaked. My drivers side strut (the old one) did not leak so the nut came off easily with the strut housing in a bench vice. The pass-side did leak and this fluid caused that giant strut nut to sorta seal in place on the tube. Therefore, after we got a pipe wrench on that nut, we put a 6-food pole over the wrench handle and I used my whole body to lift that pipe and turn the wrench. This was after a penetrating fluid bath. If you're not overwhelmed by that, then go ahead and do it. Car rides firm, btw, but lots of people on the board dislike the bilsteins, and while I've not driven the car with Konis, I'm happy with my new setup FYI.
