Mounting new CD changer in factory cage

I obtained the CD635 & factory mounting kit. I know (from the FAQ & previous posts) that the CD635 is smaller than the original (CD605?), but I didn't anticipate 4 cm difference in length.

There are obviously several ways to mount this smaller player in the cage, or to modify the cage. And yes, I would like to use the cage as I carry cargo in the trunk area.

I'm just wondering what solutions have others come up with for mounting the CD635 in the cage.
