Well, hmm let's see. If I can get the same or better protection using a really GOOD thinner oil, I am wasting less gas and will have less friction, (potentially?). The oil pump would also work less and the oil would flow even better. So, if the Amsoil 0w30 is as good as Mobil1 10w30, I would actually have a more efficient engine (oil?). The thinner the oil the less efficiency is lost to the oil. 20w50 is not an energy efficient oil, 5w30 is and so is 10w30. 0w30 may be even more efficient. I imagine at some point diminishing returns would begin to factor in. What I am looking for is real life experience. Someone who has used the stuff and know more than myself. I have a friend who races a late model camaro, normally he would rebuild the engine every season, he uses 0w30 and went three seasons without rebuilding the engine. I am just trying to determine if this is something I want to go with from a performance standpoint, and would it benifit me on the street? Thanks.
Bryan C (sorry for the sarcasm, I could not help myself, I am under control now!)
