More thoughts on throttle body transition rework.

When reworking the throttle body transition casting, you can only get into part of the casting. There are two bends that cause this limitation. I have been thinking that this can be easily overcome. The casting can simply be cut in two, near the middle. Then all of the flow surfaces can be reworked. Then it can be simply joined up with another rubber coupling and clamps. This would be straight forward and simple, except for one factor. You will need to take some troubles to make sure that the surfaces match at the cut, so as to not introduce an undesireable surface transition. The coupling would not need to be opened up again, so it could be adhesive bonded as well. This coupling joint will have to be strong. There will be a significant force at 15 PSI trying to blow this joint open, and there will not be any retention beads or bumps to assist the clamps.
A further comment about bored out throttle bodies: If you do not rework the throttle body transistion casting, it is equivalent to driving around with a throttle plate that cannot open fully. Getting a modified throttle body with the stock transistion casting would be like getting a larger throttle body with a throttle plate that will not open fully. The priorities are obvious.
