Support bracket... Posted by REM in Seattle [Email] (#4) [Profile/Gallery] (more from REM in Seattle) on Thu, 5 Oct 2000 11:53:03 In Reply to: Buzzing in the dash, TB, Thu, 5 Oct 2000 11:22:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my 1998 900SET, I found that I had a rattle that sounded like it was coming from the speaker grill/fuse box/drivers door panel. It was very hard to pin down. It turned out to be the support bracket for the plastic trim piece under the dash (covering the pedal assemblies). The support bracket mounts to the firewall near the steering column. It just hangs loose on a couple snap in posts. It was probably dancing around on chopped road surfaces quiet a bit. A little Black silicone RTV to 'chaulk' it in place and the rattle went away.
