Common for the rear pads to get sticky inside the caliper, and not completely release when you release the brakes. See if you can push the pads away from the rotor (compressing the caliper pistons). Then spin the bearing after you have made sure the rotor isn't rubbing on the brake pads.
Also...
Without the wheel bolted on, the rotor isn't clamped firmly to the hub. I use some large washers under the wheel bolts, to clamp the rotor down when I check it.
Rule that stuff out first.
