Well...who said Abbott upgrades are the only way to go? I really dont understand why people on this BB consider Abbott to be a reference on how
things should be done.
--- The Abbott upgrade is just a well know reference point that works well and does not blow anything up, except for your budget! One can say that an alternative is more or less expensive and more or less powerful, more or less easier to install and setup etc. I agree, there does seem to be too much unquestioning faith in the Abbott product. Too many folks just bolt it on and forget the basics. There is much more that needs to be done.
You now seem to conclude that boost controllers must be as good (safe or what ever) as an Abbot upgrade.
--- As good as? Sure, why not. No one wants one that does cause dammage. Another reference point.
My conclusion is that Abbott is just as bad as an external boost controller.
--- OK, but then are you offering suggestions other than running a stock ECU and stock boost pressures?
--- I anticipate that you have some reservations about Saab boosting the 2.3 pressures as seen in the Viggen. I can see why you object to the external boost controllers, but I can't see how you can object to modified ECU's. The only problem is that everyone gets dammage to the wallet.
Its quite obvious that abbott dont have a clue when they tell people with T7 cars to adjust maxboost by turning the wastegate rod....
--- I think that off hand I would have to agree that the above does not sound like reasonable advice. But I would not call them clueless. Technically competent and greedy perhaps. :)
