Yup, a good idea if on a performance car if needed for extreme use or if you're in the desert and need it. Many people sell aftermarket ones. you can fit ck out Summit racing catalog http://www.summitracing.com/‎ on line they have nice ones in different sizes and even dual stacked coolers w/ a fan so you could cool eg engine oil and ATF (the problem I saw was where to put it on a Saab !) Found a nice spot under the hood , just need to put a cool looking heat venting scoop in the bonnet (Hood ) need that space battery, you're going in the trunk ! LOL Also used and useful if you're towing a trailer. I would suggest mayhaps getting one w/ a thermostat? I am considering using an extra cooling radiator for oil/manual trans fluid W/ a small electric pump for man trans fluid I(before you laugh/scoff the Corvette, ET all have/ has one ! anything to make the poor Saab last longer ~ )
I remember Ford had a very small, simple cooler for power steering fluid! ( 'Course I don't know how useful it was perched nearly on top of a hot engine! we used to get them from junkyards and use them on motorcycles!) Saab deserves one too! We have also noticed, (we read everything mobility related ) that diesel trucks use added FILTERS (like a big oil filter )for Engine coolant Why not also for power steering fluid? ( Do you remember saab used to have a PS filter !) hey! lets filter manual trans fluid too ! Speaking of that, when is the last time you changed your Manual trans fluid? Oh, don't give me that silly (cheapskate !) dribble about "the factory recommends ........ Just do it ! You'll see HOW DIRTY it is and say "uh he was right" ! Regards, Neil
