Water Pump Replacement Questions - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
'99 9-3 SE, 270K miles. The car gave me the opportunity to do my first water pump replacement on a 9-3. Before checking into the loony bin I hope you can help with a couple of questions:
1. Do I have to remove the turbo inlet pipe? If so, I can see one bolt holding onto the turbo, but not another. Where can I find that if needed?
2. I have read about a banjo bolt that connects the turbo coolant feed pipe to the WP housing. Where is that? Not every article I've read mentions it.
3. Once the pump's 3 bolts are removed, does the entire pump/housing unit pull out, or are there other things I have to do to get the housing out?
4. What am I missing?
