I'd say No they should be fine ! if you have a misfire, or another issue you may have a bad plug -, true story, I had a misfire in my viggen so I took it to the local Saab god he plugged it in to a Saab tech II which said "misfire cyl # 1 but you still have to BE a mechanic so, he said "Hey ! you're a mechanic what is it"? so I said hmm could be a bad signal fr whatever detects the crank position, timing bad computer, bad coil, bad spark plug " whats the most common? so I said ok maybe bad plug? unlikely but let's start there (yes it was an NGK ) so installed a new plug and misfire gone. FYI one of the reasons I want to study, learn, write about and improve the Saab ignition system is i have noticed that owners seem to report many issues w/ the DIC unit and are having to run pathetically small (narrow ) plug gaps especially when running a modified engine we used MUCH wider plug gaps in practically every other performance motor even 40 -45 years ago ! these have huge advantages ! the need to use very small plug gaps indicates, in my experience a WEAK, poorly designed ignition system ! I won't tolerate that and I needn't either ! a fix is at hand albeit it may be a bit complex and expensive .
