PS not to stir the pot, Kick a nest of angry hornets? (this should do it !) but I've used Pulstar Spark Plugs |" Feel the power of plasma"
https://pulstar.com/ for years w/ great effect and like them but I've got to prove, I guess to the" nattering nabobs of negativism " (Spiro Agnew ) That they work and do NOT harm the Saab system . so I will. (a future project ) IN the meantime use NGK! LOL PS true story, I had a misfire in my viggen so I took it to the local Saab god he plugged it in to a Saab tech II which said "misfire cyl # 1 but you STILL have to BE a mechanic so, he said "Hey! you're a mechanic what is it"? so I said hmm could be a bad signal fr whatever detects the crank position, timing bad computer, bad coil, bad spark plug " whats the most common? so I said ok maybe bad plug? unlikely but let's start there (yes it was an NGK ) so installed a new plug and misfire gone. FYI one of the reasons I want to study, learn, write about and improve the Saab ignition system is I have noticed that owners report many issues w/ the DIC unit and are having to run pathetically small (narrow ) plug gaps especially when running a modified engine. We used MUCH wider plug gaps in practically every other performance motor even 40 -45 years ago! These have huge advantages! The need to use very small plug gaps indicates, in my experience, a WEAK, poorly designed ignition system ! I won't tolerate that and I needn't either ! a fix is at hand albeit it may be a bit complex and expensive.
