Super easy:
Car on, engine off, transmission in neutral, handbrake applied
Tech2: Diagnostics / Transmission / Transmission Control Module / Read values/Activate
Press the soft key associated with Activate
I don't remember the verbiage, but there are four menu entries - two for shift solenoids, one for lockup solenoid, one for pressure solenoid - I believe in that order
Choose one of the shift solenoids (doesn't matter which)
Press the soft key for manual/auto (switching it to Auto)
Press the soft key for "Repeat 10x" (changing it to 20x)
Press the soft key for activate
You will hear clicking from the transmission as the solenoid activates - the solenoid is essentially directly behind the driver's side headlight so you can hear it standard at the corner of the car. Count the clicks - do you get 20 or some other number?
Do exactly the same thing, except choose lockup solenoid instead of shift solenoid. The lockup solenoid is basically just in front of the driver's side tire - I don't know if you'll be able to hear it at all and that's what I am trying to find out. Best chance is to listen on the ground, head under the car just in front of the tire. Be sure there are no angry women around!
You'd wanna do this where it's quiet (they're not SUPER loud), and you'll want to have the Tech 2 outside with you, so pull the cable through the driver's door window.
Let me know if that all makes sense, and I appreciate the help on this!
