I am going to replace my coolant w/ Evans waterless coolant a true lifetime coolant! but I will at the same time install new silicone hoses, thermostat, water pump Evans is amazing stuff! boils at 375 deg F (so it doesn't boil !) it is potentially useful in our iron block aluminum head motors too to avoid dissimilar metal corrosion! Jay Leno puts it in ALL his 200 or so cars! The procedure is not too onerous and well w/in the capability of the average owner. you need to have a Brix, a Brix refractometer to measure water content as you can't have more than 2% ( i bought a cheap one on e-bay ) you have to evacuate ALL water from the system and use high volume air (not high pressure) air (so I bought a cheap electric leaf blower fr harbor freight tools !- 39 $ ) you have to fill the system w/ a prep fluid to get all vestiges of water out ! (remind anyone of a colonoscopy prep ? ) Drain, then fill it up w/ Evans and barring a leak? you are good for life ! the engine WILL run cooler, you'll NEVER have to deal w/ cooling system issues again ! your engine will like it ! and last longer! ( full disclosure, I'm an Evans dealer and will do conversions in Tucson AZ soon ! ) it is not cheap but here in the desert, we need all the help we can get! regards, Neil
