Usually with age they loose preload in the input shaft bearings, the springs in 5th gear also help damp it. With some wear on the clutch disk or with aftermarket disks it will tend to rattle at idle and other unloaded states.
The right disk or adjust the preload back to factory spec will do it. Neither easy. It is not a "problem" just an annoyance.
