I note the WIS indicates there is a filter in the manual transmission. It appears to be a small brass thing. My question is; can/ should this be changed without breaking open the case?
I’ve purchased a salvage yard transmission out of an 03 for my 01. It was booked into the salvage yard in 08. I plan to install new seals and attempt a flush. The salvage yard gave a 90 day warranty so I am thinking I should give it a try. I’m thinking of a K1 flush with a chaser of cheap ATF fluid. Any advice on the filter and flush procedure will be helpful.
