Most of what you list should not be an issue.
I don't know exactly the works of that signal and how the antenna ring picks it up but if it start to work again when warm, maybe the signal is temperature sensitive or the winding inside antenna ring is.
Also, other car makers warn about not having too much of stuff on the key ring and more so another car key that could interfere with the signal.
Does the remote portion still work locking the doors when the car does not start? Did you try to push the unlock button while turning the ignition on to see if you could over ride the antenna signal?
