Hello,
As for the AM radio reception it usually is not the greatest. That being said it usually can be improved a little bit by messing with the cage the radio sits in. If you have the radio removal tools pull the radio out and try to square the cage some and put the radio back in and check if it is working better. Might take a few tries to get it working better but usually can be done especially if someone has removed the cage in the past by deforming it slightly. Ofcourse here in Pittsburgh the Penguins are on a FM station so listening to them is easy.
As for the difficult to get in reverse that might be improved by fluid if it has never been changed. I think it was in 2001 when they came out with an improved manual gearbox fluid that made shifting a fair amount better. It could also be damage to the syncro for revers or the actual reverse gear. There used to be an update kit from Saab for several shifting issues that did address this and I installed the kit in numerous gearbox's before the fluid update. After the fluid update I only used the kit a few times. Good Luck, Bernie
