Historically I would as well, but I've become a bit disillusioned with "genuine Saab" these days. My sample size isn't huge, but as often as not I've paid a huge premium to get a 3rd party part in a bag. I ASSumed SKF being a reputable brand would get a good seal. It appears not!
I'm really happy you posted - I actually spend an hour this afternoon digging up receipts from my Volvo days, I found on two Volvo AW50s I'd used the Corteco 9495017 seal without issue. It shares a part number with Volvo, but I don't know if it's the actual Volvo part or not.
Corteco does not specify this part for Saabs, oddly. Have you ever noticed if the OE Volvo part is made by Corteco, and have you ever used it in a Saab?
(Assuming - again - I get this solved this car is going down to your neck of the woods. So, uh, there's a good chance you'll inherit it. Let's hope I do a good job. :)
