Unless it's a screaming deal, I would really hold out for a 9-3. Although there are a lot of improvements on the 9-3 that are worthwhile, it's especially true for convertibles. The electric top is difficult to deal with and a bit problematic... the 9-3 went back to sensible hydraulics and is generally more reliable. The '99 is still a T5 car, the '00 a T7 cars - tradeoffs in both directions.
If that's not on the table, it's largely the same as any used car - rust (if that's a concern for you), leaks, performance, squeaks, etc. The engine is of course similar to a 9000. The automatics are reasonably reliable. They are not terribly complicated, very few onerously expensive systems or difficult repairs... except the top, of course.
