WON'T SHIFT INTO 5th (coming off high revs in 4th)

Well, just got my 1st VIGGEN!!! :-) Now that's a bucket list item that I can tick off! I am, however, a little scared...
Driving it home yesterday, on the HWY, I dropped it into 4th, gave it some go (to a speed I won't mention!) and when trying to get it into 5th, it was "locked out". Slowed down staying in 4th until nearest exit, then took off again, no issues, goes into 5th when not driven like a hooligan just fine. What gives?! Car shifts very smoothly under "normal" circumstances, no odd noises, etc.
Car has under 60k original miles, a 2 owner car! Clutch was replaced according to previous owner records at 39k miles, while the flywheel was resurfaced. Yeah, I know, this is really odd... My '04 9-5 Aero has 140k miles and is still on its original clutch!
Your thoughts as to what I'm facing would be greatly appreciated!
