On daughter's 2000 9-3 SE HOT (275K miles) we'd been getting an assortment of CEL codes, which we got rid of with new plugs, a new OEM DI and a new hooter valve. I went to pick my indy's brain and he eyeballed the car and said we ought to do the PCV hoses and the one-way check valve. Since these bits were about as old as the car I figured that was OK!
SO....I pull the old check valve hose and while one end connects to the PCV nipple on the valve cover, the other end is loose. It was bulged out a little as if it connected to something in the past, but I have no idea what. I looked all around the throttle body and intake manifold but see no sign of it. The hose downstream of the check valve was only about 8" long.
So what does it connect to... and where?
I turn the CEL off and we'll see if it comes back. The car runs fine but still have to figure this out because we can't get an inspection sticker with a CEL shows up again.
