Rapid front end clunk noise over rough road in 2000 Viggen

Hello, I have a 2000 Viggen that has developed a difficult to diagnose front end noise. It seems to be mainly on the driver's side. When going over rough roads there seems to be clunking in a rapid manor that seems like something should be obviously loose. It's most obvious at very low speeds when you don't have much road or engine noise.
I've been chasing this for some time. I brought it to a local shop that does a lot of suspension work and they thought it was the struts. They said one strut was leaking (who knows if it really was), and replaced them, along with the tops. No luck. I then replaced the sway bar end links. That helped because one of them turned out to be rusted solid, but it didn't solve it. I then thought maybe the transmission mount was going bad, and just replaced that. No luck there either. The control arm / ball joints are only a few years old and don't have a lot of miles on them. The stanchion arm bushings where they connect to the subframe look ok visually. I'm at a loss now. Any suggestions? I have seen people talking about re-torquing subframe bolts, but nothing seems loose in the front end when I jack up the car and try to shake things around. On a side note, the rear engine mount looks to be in decent shape.
Thanks,
Ian
