Not related. The car electronics have no knowledge of what's happening with the physical locks. The lock cylinder is a physical issue - worn cylinder, worn key, debris, etc. It's not uncommon for this to happen as the key gets worn by the ignition cylinder but the car is unlocked exclusively with the remote. The key & ignition are worn together, but the door is like new.
The "service" message typically happens when the batteries and/or capacitors in the alarm module fail. The module is in the front left wheel well - plenty of tutorials and whatnot out there on how to rebuild it. Or, you can use Tech 2 to remove it from the car. Theoretically the message could be the result of something else - and Tech 2 will tell you for sure - but it's typically the module.
