I just had this done, sent in my misbehaving alarm, BBA repaired & returned it in about 10 days, $99 total. While it is possible to fix it yourself (needs 2 batteries plus several capacitors), it is a bit of a pain. The 2001 & up alarm boxes are sealed (no screws), so you need to cut the box open without mangling it. And, the correct batteries are hard to find, usually sourced via ebay from China--- lots of discussion about this on the 9-5 board (the wrong batteries will work, but last only a few months). After replacing things, the box has to be resealed to keep the elements out (it lives in a harsh environment, up in the driver's side front wheel well).
